Life can be such a difficult journey. Handling life on your own without anyone in your corner can
make it even more heartbreaking and difficult. None of us asks for what we receive in life. It feels like some people seem to have all the advantages while others seem to live life blow by blow, never getting on top of things.
Regardless of which side of the fence in life you may be experiencing, you were never meant to handle it alone. Stress and worry about making ends meet, health problems, and impossibilities were never meant to alienate, frustrate, or bring you endless worry. You were always meant to have hope and peace in the middle of these things. You were meant to have joy with an abundant life! Knowing God’s heart personally is the only way to have this abundant life. Does your heart know His?
John 10:10 TPT says this:
“The thief (The devil) has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect—life in its fullness until you overflow!” John 10:10 TPT
Are You Living a Life Connected to His Heart?
Does that sound like the life you are living? If not, keep reading. This life in abundance is in symphony with the love of Jesus Christ. His love is so immense, and knowing God’s heart personally will get you this life. He loved you and knew you before you were born. He had a plan for your life that included His great love for you and all the lavish treasures of heaven. 1John 3:1 TPT says:
“Look with wonder at the depth of the Father’s marvelous love that he has lavished on us! He has called us and made us his very own beloved children.” John 3:1 TPT

His Perfect Plan was Always for You to Know His Heart Personally
Did you catch that? The Father’s and the son’s (Jesus’) plan for you was to always make you His beloved child! Children are beloved, and they are well taken care of. They don’t worry for anything when the King of Glory is their caretaker.
He provides peace, abundance, provision, joy, and His never ending Presence. Along with being a beloved child, He also created you with a purpose. He created you with a destiny that is beyond what you could ever imagine. He planned all these things for you! Yes…YOU! So why don’t you just have this automatically? Well, there is more to know…
Why We Don’t have Life in Christ Automatically
Romans 3:23 NIV says:
“For the wages (payment) of sin is death…” Romans 3:23 NIV
Yes, you read that right. The wage or punishment of sin is death. You and I are destined to spiritual death if we have sin. We have it and we have no way to rid ourselves of it by ourselves.
You might be thinking right now that you aren’t a sinner, and you feel you are a good person. You don’t go around doing evil. There are so many more people out there in your opinion that are doing worse than you are. Surely God would understand that because He knows your life and situation.
You are partly right. He knows your situation for sure, but you are a sinner. You didn’t choose it. It was handed down to you, but you still have it. This is the part of sin you didn’t ask for. Then there is the part that you know that you aren’t good enough to meet His holy standards.
Hell is a Very Real Place That You Were Never Intended to Be
You may already recognize that you have things in you that God wouldn’t be proud of. So, if you were to die in this situation, you would die physically and spiritually, living separated from God. You would die and live eternally with the devil and his angels in the lake of fire. (Hell. Yes, it is a very real place. See Revelation 20:13-14). Knowing God’s heart personally is the only cure.
He is Holy
God is pure light and completely holy and righteous. He cannot be close to sin, for He is pure holiness:
“Who will not fear you, Lord, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.” Revelation 15:4 NIV
Also, see Isaiah 6:1-5 for more on God’s holiness. There is just too much to include here!
As hard as we try on our own, it is impossible for people with even one sin or just a ‘little bit’ of sin, (if that were possible) to please God and go to heaven. It just cannot happen.
Romans 8:8 CJB says:
“Thus, those who identify with their old nature cannot please God.” Romans 8:8 CJB
This ‘old nature’ is simply being born in the flesh. That person cannot please God.

A Good Example
Imagine You are standing on one side of a mountain and before you a deep, deep ravine. You need to get to the other side, where God is, but you can’t get to the other side. The gap is too far, and the ravine is too deep for you to cross on your own. This is the situation you are in in life, but in a spiritual sense. It is a reality separated from God in sin.
Romans 6:23 NIV has another half of the story!
“For the wages (payment) of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[a] Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 NIV
Praise God! There is a solution!
Romans 5:8 TPT says:
“But Christ proved God’s passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly!” Romans 5:8 TPT
The Solution to Knowing God’s Heart Personally
The solution is this: Someone had to die to fix this sin problem. Jesus was sent to the world as the perfect, sinless sacrifice for your sin. He died in your place so that you didn’t have to. 3 days later, He arose, alive, and resurrected back into heaven so that you could live with Him and reign from Heaven with Him! Why Jesus and no one else? Aren’t there many ways to Heaven? Well, let me tell you, that Christ Himself said He is the resurrection and the life! After Jesus died on the Cross, and His Spirit came to the world, His believers, Peter & John, filled with the Holy Spirit by inspiration spoke boldly:
“There is no one else who has the power to save us, for there is only one name to Whom God has given authority by which we must experience salvation: the name of Jesus.“ Acts 4:13 TPT
Now imagine the same mountain gap scene. You on one side, the deep ravine, and the other side where God is at. Now, the cross is seen as the bridge from your side to God’s side. Read John 14:6 NIV:
“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 NIV
Jesus is the Way to God’s Heart
Jesus is literally the way for you to get to the other side into the Father’s arms! He is the doorway of access for all to come into the adoption as God’s beloved children. Remember all the beautiful things children of God enjoy in the beginning of this post? (And that is only a part) Well, that is yours. All Jesus asks is that we do this:

Admit & repent (acknowledge, apologize, and go a different direction) that you were born a sinner and are a sinner, as the Bible says that all of us are. (Romans 3:23)
Confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord. (1 John 1:9)
Believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, and you will be saved! (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
Romans 10:9-10 and 13 NLT along with 1 John 1:9 AMP sum it up nicely:
“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved … For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:9-10 and 13
“If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises] and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness [our wrongdoing, everything not in conformity with His will and purpose]. 1 John 1:9 AMP
Communicate to Know God’s Heart Personally
In order to do those things, you will need to pray to God. It doesn’t have to be pretty or in King James dialect. it just needs to be spoken in honesty from your heart. An honest and repentant heart is precious to the Lord. Look at this wonderful verse that further demonstrates His holiness and His heart for those who repent:
“For the high and exalted One He who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy says this, “I dwell on the high and holy place, But also, with the contrite and humble in spirit In order to revive the spirit of the humble And to revive the heart of the contrite.” [overcome with sorrow for sin]. Isaiah 57:15 AMP
His heart listens to yours as you call out to him in honesty and sincerity before Him. He hears your tender cry!

Sample Prayer
Here’s an example prayer. It is NOT the only prayer you can pray. It is always better to pray from your heart rather than reading something, but He will hear whatever you decide to do as it’s spoken in sincerity:
Dear Lord,
I know that I am a sinner and that I have sinned against you. Lord, I know I can’t be right with you on my own. I am sorry for my sin. Please forgive me. I confess to you right now that you are Lord. You died for my sin on the cross and I believe that you rose again on the third day alive! I believe that you have now forgiven me and your spirit lives within me because of my confession of faith. Thank you for the new life that you have given me! I now know I have a home in heaven with You!
In Jesus’ Name I pray,
Amen
If you prayed this prayer, please let us know! This is simply the beginning of a beautiful life in Jesus! The Bible has this to say about you:
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come” [because spiritual awakening brings a new life]. 2 Corinthians 5:17 AMP
You are a New Creature in Christ
You are a new creature! Now is the time for you to be encouraged in the faith and to be built up in your new faith. I encourage you to find a house of worship in Jesus where you can find friends, community, solid Bible teaching, and encouragement. You were never meant to walk this new life alone! Reading the Word of God is the only way to know God’s heart personally for you. There are many promises He lays out within His Word just waiting for you to discover. They are powerful and are key to knowing the abundant life and love of Christ.
